Recording transactions
The Transactions page is your operations hub, organised in three tabs:
- Transactions — the list itself, with filters and quick stats.
- Insights — daily flow charts, category breakdowns, and activity heatmaps.
- Review — the priority queue, duplicate watch, and AI review guidance.
Filtering by any date range
The date filter includes Custom range… — pick any from/to dates (for example a specific month last year). All stats, lists, and exports follow the selected range.
The stats chips are buttons
Pending review, High risk, and Needs evidence chips at the top apply the matching filter with one click. Net shows the net movement of whatever is currently in view.
Fixing mistakes safely
Open any transaction for the full story — receipts, alerts, tasks, and an audit timeline. From there you can:
- Edit confirmed transactions (owners).
- Nullify — erase the financial effect but keep the record visible for audit.
- Delete — moves the transaction to the Recycle Bin with a reason; restorable until the retention window ends. Nullified transactions can also be deleted.
Splitting one entry across categories
Use a split when one payment represents several types of income or expense. For example, a single payment of 100 can be allocated as 28.50 to Event Income and 71.50 to Donations without inventing a second source payment.
- Open the transaction from Transactions or Review.
- Select Split into entries.
- Choose Fixed amount or Percentage.
- Enter a category and value for each split line. Add or remove lines as needed.
- Check Allocated and Remaining. The remainder must be zero, or percentages must total exactly 100%.
- Select Save split.
You can split pending, confirmed and corrected entries. Open a previously split entry to revise its allocation. SBB reverses the old allocation for audit and posts the new one, so reports never count both versions.
Every split line reaches the ledger, P&L, drill-through and exports. It also inherits the source currency, frozen exchange rate and Reporting Class.
Classifying a quick entry
When using + Record, choose Class (optional) to identify the business segment behind the income or expense. Classes are configured under Settings → Personalization and can be compared in Reports → P&L.
See Reporting Classes for setup and examples.
Saved views
Set up a filter combination you use often (e.g. "unreceipted expenses, last 90 days") and save it as a view — one click brings it back, including custom date ranges.
